Night life on the island of Mykonos is well known worldwide

Mykonos is the most popular, the most high profile and the most expensive of the Cyclades islands,  the  capital is still one of the most photogenic of the Greek island island towns, with whitewashed houses concealing hundreds of little churches, shrines and chapels.

The sophisticated nightlife is hectic, with a gay slant to it around September time, gay tourists are in the minority on the island until then.

Mykonos offers lively beaches and the party lifestyle, as well as easy access to Delos island.

The labyrinthine design of Mykonos town was supposedly to confuse the pirates who plagued Mykonos in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, and it has the same effect on todays visitors.

Night life on the island of Mykonos is well known worldwide and  is the main reason of the islands huge appeal.  Partying lasts the whole night long. It is also known as being one of the best gay and lesbians spots in Europe.

Architecture:  In Mykonos you will see the typical Cycladic cubist style of architecture. Small, often single storey white cubes  like little iced cakes, However, Mykonos town has a different  style that is unique in the area, the buildings are more of a of a medieval style.  

Chora is a town you must see. Stroll around, go to the windmills, feed the  pelicans, take a drink in the little harbour and visit the Parapotiani church. Plenty of shopping outlets can be found. There are also museums to visit, an archaeological, a folk and a maritime museum.
